WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE PIERCE COUNTY
NOXIOUS WEED CONTROL PROGRAM?
Since many people are unfamiliar with noxious weeds and the problems they cause, the county weed control program is available to provide information on identification and control. This is accomplished through education booth events at community fairs and gatherings, noxious weed training workshops, informational brochures and field guides, and on-site consultations.
Additionally, Field Inspectors conduct surveys throughout the county to identify sites that contain noxious weeds. Once an infestation is found, the property owner is notified with information regarding noxious weed laws, identification, impact, and control options. Finally, all infestation sites are monitored to insure that control is achieved.
