WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE PIERCE COUNTY NOXIOUS WEED CONTROL PROGRAM?

Since many people are unfamiliar with noxious weeds, the county weed control program is available to provide information on identification and control.  We use a variety of methods to accomplish this task including; educational presentations, instructive brochures, on-site consultations and our education booth at local fairs and events.

Additionally, our licensed Noxious Weed Specialists locate infestations by conducting surveys throughout the county to identify sites that contain noxious weeds. Once an infestation is found, the property owner is notified with information regarding noxious weed laws, identification, impact, and control options. Finally, all infestation sites are monitored to insure that control is achieved.
