THE PIERCE COUNTY NOXIOUS
WEED CONTROL BOARD'S PURPOSE
is to educate the citizens of Pierce County about noxious weeds and
the problems they create. An equally important role is enforcement
of the law requiring landowners to control and to prevent the spread
of noxious weeds from their property.
RCW 17.10, the Washington
State Weed Control Law creates the Washington State Noxious Weed
Control Board and all local county Weed Boards and Districts. Each
county in the state is required to establish a Noxious Weed Control
Board. Detailed information about the laws regarding weed control
is available at the Washington
State Noxious Weed Board Site (external link).
Like all county noxious weed
control boards, the Pierce County program is your first line of defense
against noxious weed invasion. The small yearly fee each landowner
pays allows the Pierce County Noxious Weed Control Board to provide
many services to the community.
